Matt Dorado is an LA based immersive theatre writer, director, and producer.

He started his career creating and producing indie haunted house events in his late teens and early twenties. His interests shifted to immersive theatre after opening up the first interactive haunted attraction in Santa Barbara, where he lived for a year after graduating college.

Upon moving back to Los Angeles, he created Drunken Devil, a narrative-driven nightlife series. What started as a scrappy, DIY theatrical party quickly blossomed into “a legend on the LA haunt scene” (No Proscenium). Over the course of four years, he produced over twenty events under the Drunken Devil banner.

He also wrote, directed, and produced To Live and Di(n)e in L.A., an interactive supper club where guests sat down to dine with the ghosts of infamous Los Angeles serial killers. The show, which sold out each seating over its’ two-year run, was hailed by Time Out Los Angeles as “the most morbid—but entertaining—meal you can find in Los Angeles, a dose of immersive theater and burlesque interludes to help you stomach your own curiosities.”

His work has been featured in a number of outlets, from The Los Angeles Times and The Verge, to national genre outlets like Nerdist and Fangoria, and more.

Matt was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He attended a small, Christian liberal arts college, where – before he graduated early because he came out of the closet his sophomore year and promptly had to get the f*ck outta there – he studied Theater Arts with an emphasis in writing and directing.

He lives in East Hollywood with his cat, Aleister Meowley.
